Strawberry & Chocolate Yogurt Parfait

strawberry & chocolate yogurt parfait

Have I ever told you how head over heels, truly in love I am with my homemade granola?  I really am.  I eat it almost every morning.  I just can’t get enough of it.   I’m not sure if I like it better with just plain milk or yogurt.

If I said milk then our post would probably end right now because there’s only so many pictures one can take of a bowl of granola with milk.

But a strawberry & chocolate yogurt parfait … well that’s another story entirely!  Wanna see?

I know how much you all like close ups of food, especially when you’re able to see the chunks of chocolate in there.

There really is no ‘recipe’ for this.  I just thought it might be fun to layer my yogurt and granola in a mason jar today, but for you I’ll quick come up with something just so you can print it.

I started with about a 1/4 cup of yogurt (I only use organic WHOLE milk yogurt), topped it with about 1/3 cup granola, oh! you might want that recipe so you can make it as yumilicious as mine was.  You can get that here.  Then some sliced strawberries and I broke off little chunks from an organic dark chocolate bar and added them in too.

The best part of this is you can make it at night and have it greet you all bright and happy when you open the fridge the next morning.  Or you can even put a lid on it and take it to work with you.  Now THAT’S breakfast on the run if you ask me!  I hope you enjoy it!

Strawberry & Chocolate Yogurt Parfait

This is really a more or less kind of recipe. If you find it doesn't have enough yogurt for you, then just add more. If it has too much granola, decrease it. So these ingredients really are just ballparks
1/2 - 3/4 cup greek or organic plain whole yogurt
2/3 cup granola
5-6 organic strawberries, cut in half or quarters
1-2 oz organic chocolate bar, cut in small pieces

  1. Start by layering your parfait with a 1/4 cup of yogurt
  2. Top with 1/3 cup granola
  3. Top with 2 sliced strawberries and a few chocolate pieces
  4. Repeat and top with a dollup of yogurt and a few strawberries and slivered chocolate

I used all organic ingredients when making this recipe, and hope you do too!  🙂

Buying any of these items through our blog will not increase your cost, but it will help cover some of the costs associated with running it.  In a few years I might be able to buy a beer.
